To unlock and use the Currency Exchange in Path of Exile 2, you need to complete the main campaign, which currently consists of the first three acts. Once you finish these acts, you enter Cruel Difficulty (a New Game Plus mode), and the Currency Exchange unlocks automatically. This feature becomes available at the Clearfell Encampment and all subsequent hubs, including your hideout where you can access it via the NPC Alva.

The Currency Exchange allows you to trade one type of currency item for another instantly with other players through an in-game interface. Many players find it especially helpful when they need poe 2 currency to complete crafting goals or trade up for higher-tier items.

To use it:

  1. Talk to the Currency Exchange NPC (such as Alva in your hideout or other gambling vendors in towns).

  2. Open the Currency Exchange menu, where you will see two sections: "I Want" (the currency you want to acquire) and "I Have" (the currency you want to trade).

  3. Select the currency you want to receive on the left side.

  4. Select the currency you want to offer on the right side.

  5. The system will show the current exchange ratio based on player supply and demand.

  6. If you have enough of the offered currency, confirm the trade by placing an order.

  7. The traded currency will be deducted from your inventory, and the new currency will appear for you to collect.

The Currency Exchange is designed for stackable currency items only and does not support trading equippable gear. It provides a fast, secure, and convenient way to convert currencies without needing to negotiate directly with other players.

Keep in mind that you cannot access the Currency Exchange early in the game; you must first complete the campaign. Until then, you’ll need to gather currency through drops, vendors, or direct player trades. Some players even buy poe 2 currency outside the game to get a head start once the feature unlocks.

The Currency Exchange is a powerful tool for managing your currency stash, flipping currencies for profit, and streamlining your crafting resources as you progress through Path of Exile 2.
